Abstract

Plants of the genus, belonging to the Compositae family, contain various compounds such as terpenoids, flavonoids, steroids, phenylpropanoids, phenolic acids, and fatty acids, among others. The main components are sesquiterpenes. In addition, several species within this genus exhibit excellent pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, and hepatoprotective effects. This paper offers a comprehensive review and summary of the chemical compositions and pharmacological properties of genus, aiming to enhance research, development, and utilization of these plants.
