Abstract
“One of the most important areas of the modern pharmaceutical research is the field of drug delivery and targeting. Many new drug candidates originating from our natural building blocks, the peptides and proteins, simple or complex carbohydrates, nucleotides and nucleosides and lipids, are not ideal drug like compounds. Their molecular weight is generally high and biological stability is low, so the delivery of these compounds represents a major challenge. Drug Delivery Letters (DDL) is the sister journal of the successful Current Drug Delivery. DDL publishes short papers in all important aspects of drug delivery including gene and vaccine delivery and targeting. The journal publishes basic and applied research including novel drug delivery systems applying physical (micro needles, jet propulsion), chemical (peptidomimetics) and new formulation (polymers, nanoparticles) methods. The first issue contains articles from all over the world including Europe, Asia and America. We aim to achieve fast publication after a vigorous peer-review procedure.”
