Easy and Cheap Method for Synthesis of 5-Hydroxymethylfurural. The New Look At The Old Methodology

The easy and cheap method for the preparation of 5 hydroxymethylfurfural in a satisfactory yield is described in this paper. The method is a practical modification of the old methodology elaborated 74 years ago. Its requirements are so simple that it may be used in scarcely equipped provincial laboratories, which do not have any important financial support.
