Abstract
A microwave assisted synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides utilizing catalytic Nbromosuccinimide (NBS) and stoichiometric sodium bicarbonate instead of CO2 has been developed. The comparison study between microwave and conventional oil bath indicated significant merit associated with microwave.
