Transpersonal psychology is the study of human nature that begins with theassumption that humans have potentials that go beyond the limits of their ego andintegrate spiritual experience into a broader understanding of the human psyche andconsciousness. Altered states of consciousness have been used as psychotherapy intranspersonal to help individuals for self-exploration and self-analysis and proposed bymany psychologists during the last decades as a way to explore the human psyche andprovide a better understanding of the human mind.
