The Application of Powder Suspended Dielectric Fluid in Micro-EDM Processes to Reduce Machining Time

Abstract
Faster machining time is the main factor in improving the machining efficiency in µ-EDM processes. This paper presents the effect of micro MoS2 powder mixed dielectric fluid on reducing machining time. It was found that suspension of micro MoS2 powder in dielectric fluid significantly reduces machining time up to 50 % compared to machining time in pure dielectric fluid.
