Abstract

Nitric oxide and Sulfur dioxide are scrubbed at the same time with [Fe(II)NTA]- solution. Activated carbon is applied to accelerate the regeneration of [Fe(II)NTA]-. KCO solution is tried to treat the carbon to ameliorate its catalytic ability. Experiments demonstrate that the best modification condition is: KCO concentration 6.0 mol L-1, impregnation time 9 h, activation temperature 700°C and activation time 4 h. After being modified with KCO solution, the carbon surface area increases slightly. But the alkalinity on the carbon surface is intensified, which plays a vital role in meliorating the catalytic ability of the carbon sample in the reduction of [Fe(III)NTA].
