It is a great honour to introduce this new journal Current Catalysis. Catalysis has been an important research field involving multidisplinary principles such as physics, chemistry, materials, engineering and biology. Since the industrial revolution, fast development of modern technology and industry heavily relies on new catalysts and processes which will provide an impetus and cost effective strategy. Nowadays, people are facing new challenges in shortage of natural resource, energy supply, and environmental pollution. It has been envisaged that catalysis will bring in smart solutions for sustainable development to the whole world. Current Catalysis is dedicated to publishing original research on homogeneous catalysis, heterogeneous catalysis, and biocatalysis both in fundamentals and applications. The coverage includes chemical synthesis, bio-reaction, fuels and energy conversion, and environmental protection. The journal will serve as a platform for a variety of researchers to present the scientific results of the above mentioned issues in research articles, reviews and communications related to catalysis. All submissions will be reviewed in an expedient manner, leading to rapid publication for a high impact. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bentham Science Publishers for appointing me as Editor-in-Chief of the journal, and to acknowledge supporting staff for their enthusiasm, dedication and continual support.
