Neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NP-SLE) is one of the most serious organ complications of SLE, affecting health, quality of life, and prognosis of life in patients with SLE. Neurological symptoms are various. Among the pathological conditions of SLE, those including neurologic syndromes of the central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, and diffuse psychiatric and neuropsychiatric syndrome are called NP-SLE in the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) nomenclature. In NP-SLE, such a variety of pathophysiology should be considered when selecting a treatment. In this article, we describe the neurological lesions of SLE with illustrations.
