Today, functional nanomaterials are synthesized and applied for sensor surface engineering to lower the limit of detection, rapid signal, and for onsite analysis results. This chapter surveys widely used materials that are applied to modify the carbon electrode. Besides, modification strategies, application in sensing, and the reported results are briefly discussed.
