Non-operating room anesthesia (NORA) is becoming increasingly popular for pediatric patients and comes with its own unique challenges that warrant consideration in order to provide safe anesthetic care. This chapter is organized by location and discusses considerations for locations such as the radiology suite, interventional radiology, gastroenterology, and oncology sites. Agent selection and anesthetic type can vary even within each locale, and different techniques are presented to help guide the practitioner on what may be expected with each site and procedure. Checklists are provided as cognitive aids for the safe preparation. The postanesthesia recovery period for these patients is also summarized, and discharge criteria are provided.
