Theranostics at the Crossroads of Precision Health and Precision Medicine

There have been major recent advances in multiple disciplines that have culminated into the underpinnings of precision health and precision medicine. The advances include but are not limited to new insights into human biology in health and disease, innovations in computation technology capable of storing and processing massive amounts of multidimensional data (big data), improvements in imaging technology, and developments such as sophisticated radiomics, and incorporation of artificial intelligence and deep learning. Theranostics, which is an integration of targeted diagnostics and therapeutics, is emerging rapidly and is positioned strategically to link precision health and precision medicine.
